Mobile Shopping

BeeTag – This free app uses the popular 2D codes. It is designed specifically for BlackBerry smartphone users. Scan the products barcode and the app displays product information, text and URL info for anything.

GoCart (ShopSavvy) – This free GoCart application uses GPS along with the built in camera to scan barcodes. It will then scan the web and local stores to find prices on any product. Another great feature is the ability to set up price alerts when prices go down online or in your local stores.

Fast Food Freeware – Find your favorite fast food eatery wherever you are with this free app. It uses GPS to locate and give directions with maps to the comfort food of your choice.

CellFire – Coupon lover? This free app sends virtual coupons to your smartphone, each with an individual 5-digit code which you can show to store clerks. To sign up you need to register with cellfire.com on your BlackBerry and select your smartphone and carrier. Each available coupon offer appears with the company’s logo, the latest version allows you to find store coupons online then automatically sync them in your BlackBerry. To update your coupons, simply open the CellFire software and select ‘update coupons’.

Caffeine Finder Freeware – Who isn’t a coffee addict these days? This free app could prove very useful if on a trip or in a strange city to locate the closest coffee shops and cafes. It works similarly to Fast Food Finder, with directional maps and addresses of the desired location.

Amazon Shopping Application – This app was originally designed for the IPhone, but proved so popular it is now available for BlackBerry as well. This free app allows you to take a photo, upload it to Amazon.com then the app will attempt to find similar products in their store. Amazon App for BlackBerry also features one click purchasing, package tracking, personalized recommendations and wish lists.

iSkoot – This free app works in conjunction with Skype, to make and receive Skype calls, chat and use SkypeOut to call regular numbers anywhere in the world, as well as to anyone in your contacts list. It also includes emoticons, and multi party chat. This app is much ‘thinner’ than other Skype apps which will take up less memory and battery power.

Jaikuberry – This small BlackBerry software application allows you to blog about your life through the Blackberry. With this app you can share and keep others up to date, even when you’re halfway around the world.
